Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Haru Care (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Haru (the “Service”), including our websites at harucare.ca and app.harucare.ca and our mobile applications.
1. Who we are
Haru is a digital companion for postpartum families. It helps caregivers log baby care and recovery-related information and sync that history across household members you invite.

2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers from providers you choose (for example Google Sign-In).
Google account data
If you sign in with Google, Haru requests only the basic profile scopes
needed to authenticate you (email and
profile). That typically includes your Google account email
address, display name, and profile picture. We use this data solely to
create and secure your Haru account and to show who is signed in. We do
not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or other
Google user data, and we do not sell or use Google account data for
advertising.
Family and care content you enter
You and invited caregivers may enter care and recovery logs (for example feeding, sleep, diapers, mood, symptoms, medications, and baby measurements), profile details (caregiver and baby names, birth date, birth type), and household membership information.
Device and technical data
We may collect device identifiers needed for sync and local notifications, app version, approximate diagnostics when something fails (for example error reports), and standard web logs (IP address, browser type) when you use our websites.
Local storage
Haru is designed to work offline. Care history may be stored on your device and synchronized to our cloud services when you are signed in and connected.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your care logs to show third-party advertising.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run Haru:
- Household members you invite can see family care data according to the product’s household model.
- Service providers that host infrastructure for us (notably Google Firebase / Google Cloud for authentication, database, and hosting). They process data under their terms and our configuration.
- Legal requirements if we are required to disclose information to comply with law, regulation, or valid legal process.
5. Health-related content
Haru may store information related to postpartum recovery and infant care that you choose to enter. Haru is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for professional healthcare. Always contact a qualified clinician for medical concerns.
6. Retention

8. Children’s privacy
Haru is intended for adult caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Baby-related information is entered by caregivers about infants in their care.
